Flying Cow theatre studios bring together more than 70 participants of different ages, united by an interest in theatre, creativity, and exploring themselves and the world around them.

Theatre Studio

For us, a theatre studio is a space where professional acting training and the creation of performances are combined with opportunities to explore ourselves, our relationships with other people, and our connection with nature, of which we are a part.

In our studio work, we explore different areas of theatre: acting, physical theatre, movement, improvisation, playwriting, directing, and working with objects, space, music, and other theatrical forms.

Participants in the Flying Cow studios take part in international festivals, youth exchanges, theatre projects, and educational initiatives, meeting and creating collaborative work with young people and theatre companies from different countries.

The Dragon Dreaming method has become an important part of studio life.

Dragon Dreaming brings together three areas: personal development, community building, and care for the Earth. We aim to apply this approach throughout studio life: when creating performances, organising projects, communicating, and working together.

    Janika Koppel

    Director, actress, acting teacher and head of the Flying Cow family theatre

    Moscow State University of Culture and Arts, directing and acting course, 1995–2000. Further training at the Enne Tantsu free-dance studio and the School of Dramatic Art led by Anatoly Vasiliev, 2001–2002

    Experience: more than 26 years — working in theatre and teaching acting since 2000

    Member of the Estonian Directors and Dramaturgs Union (Eesti Lavastajate ja Dramaturgide Liit) since 2021.
